Paul Dax, a record executive charged with closing a record company and getting rid of its artists, decides to help out an artist by releasing her album on an inactive label before terminating her contract. What he doesn't anticipate is her album becoming a hit. Now Paul must figure out how to keep his boss and the artist he is falling for from finding out the truth while managing a label that does not really exist.
